I actually feel a little bad categorising this post under ‘Fun Stuff’, but that’s the only off-topic blog category I’ve created so far. Perhaps I should make a new category called ‘off topic’ in future. For my international readers who may or may not know by now, I’m from Singapore. And lately, these has been a scandal involving Singapore’s so-called number 1 comedian and director Jack Neo. I guess you could call this scandal Singapore’s version of the Tiger Woods Scandal. In a nutshell – Jack Neo cheats on his wife with a 21-year-old. Various other girls come forward to tell their juicy stories involving the director. And these details are definitely juicy. If it were another celebrity who exudes more of a ‘naughty’ edge to him like Mark Lee or Christopher Lee, I would not have been so shocked. What we are talking about here is a man whose shows I have grown up watching. Shows like Comedy Night, and his movies (most of which I have enjoyed). He portrays the image of such a wholesome family man who seems totally unlikely to err. Alas, as the saying goes, to err is human. Jack Neo erred, and he is now paying the price.

There are some say that this whole Jack Neo scandal is staged. That it’s a publicity stunt for his movie. If it were a publicity stunt, he would have revealed it at this latest press conference. Plus, I don’t think his wife is a good enough actress to participate in a sham. I would say its very real. Jack Neo, whether you are remorseful or not, I would definitely see you in a different light from this day. That said, no human being is perfect. We all have our skeletons in the closets. You were just unlucky enough to be exposed. The person I feel sorry for the most is his wife.
